  • Question

  • Hi Team,

Please let me know if silver light plug in is required for SCOM Installed servers. If it doesn't require, shall I remove it from the servers.

  • Hi,

If you mean Martello Live Maps (previously Savision), then no it is not required, they are all Silverlight free.

What version of SCOM are you running?

SCOM 2016 does still use Silverlight for their Web Console.

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Yes, we use Savision Live maps 10.0 version.

SCOM 2016 is the current version in our environment and we are planning to upgrade to 2019. Silver light is required in both the cases, please confirm.

Silver light should be available in Webconsole servers alone or for all the SCOM installed servers? Please confirm me that as well.

  • The Web console in SCOM 2019 has been redesigned and is a fully functional HTML-based console, and no longer has a dependency on Silverlight.

If you have some Silverlight dashboards from a previous SCOM version note the following:

"Client web browser for Silverlight-enabled dashboards: For backwards compatibility with Silverlight-enabled dashboards, Internet Explorer 11 and Silverlight 5 is required."

No need to have Silverlight on the SCOM servers, unless you use the Web Console on the SCOM servers.
