Exchange Online users not able to book on prem room mailboxes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

We have a hybrid setup of Exchange Server 2010 SP3, Exchange 2013 and O365. We are currently in the process of migrating mailboxes to Exchange Online in O365 environment.

We have room mailboxes configured in Exchange 2010 SP3  environment. When a user already migrated to Exchange Online tries to book one of those room mailboxes for meeting, the meeting room does not provide any response (accept/decline).

Also, on checking the exchange online environment in O365, those room mailboxes are not shown in the resource mailbox list.

Requesting your inputs on the same.

  • HI,

If You are migrating manually using office 365 admin portal, then migrate one of the room mailbox and then try booking the same which works fine.

  • Hi

I think this KB will be useful to you: Exchange Online users can't add on-premises conference rooms to meeting requests in Outlook Web App

It point that, in a hybrid organization, Exchange online user cannot find Exchange on-premises room mailbox by default. We should to create a room list in Exchange on-premises. We also need to sync those room mailbox AD account to Exchange online.

    Regards,

    Kyle Xu
