SSRS Matrix Report with Pivot Table Look & Feel RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm working with a client who wants Matrix based report to have Look and Feel of Excel Pivot Table. Primarily they want all groups to be in one column under each other instead of three separate columns. Is it possible to do in a matrix?

Answers

  • Yes it is possible.

Kindly follow the below steps :

1.Goto Toolbox-->Matrix (drag and drop it into your Design Window)

2.ReportData -->Drag and Drop your leaflevel Attribute in your Group. (Ex:Country-->State-->City) Hierarchy,City is the leaflevel(City in this case) .

3.Goto RowGroups -->Right click on the leaflevel Attribute -->Add Group-->Parent Group

4.Groupby -->Select the parent of the attribute (state in this case) and Enable Add Group Header.

5.You will have an empty cell on top of leaflevel attribute(City in this case) Now Drag and drop the State in this Box and delete the Parent Column.

6.You can toggle the Report items on its ParentGroup .

Repeat the steps for 3-6 for rest of the hierarchy attributes.
