  • Hello !

    Here is a problem that I have found on some computers

    Client won't install/upgrade. In ccrretry.box, I found the following error:

    [Resource Names ]

       Resource Names 1= MY_PC_NAME

    [NT Client Configuration Request]

       Client Type=1

       Forced CCR=TRUE

       PushClientEvenIfDC=FALSE

       Info CCR=FALSE

       Machine Name=MY_PC_NAME

       Number of Processing Attempts=1

    [IDENT]

       TYPE=Client Config Request File

    Now, if I look into ccm.log, I found this error

    So, this problem is related to
    WMI.

    Let’s run wbemtest!

    Here results are surprising. If wbemtest is launched on the site server (Server 2008) I get the same connection error.
    Now, if I use wbemtest from my XP machine or a server 2003 the connection succeed

    How can I fix this?

    Thanks for your help

    It's not really suprising, because the siteserver and wbemtest on the siteserver are failing with the same error code.
    Could it be a firewall issue since you can connect from other systems? (0x800706ba = The RPC server is unavailable)

  • Hi Torsten,

    All computer affected by this issue are laptops. Most of them have Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient installed.
    I can figure why Remote connection works from an XP box but not from the server 2008.

    Do I need to open specific ports for server 2008 ?

  • Looks like a FW issue. try disabling FWs and then try for the push.

  • Upgrading the Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient to the latest version solved the problem !

  • I am having the same issue, but I'm pretty sure it is not a firewall.  The Windows XP Firewall service is not enabled and all the machines are on the same network segment.  About 80% of the machines got the client installed.   Here is a snippet from my CCM log file.   I cannot remotely connect to WMI

  • Hi Torsten

    I resolved this problem disabling the firewall on the client computers.

    Thanks !
