AD and exchange consolidation/migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi, i am new to this AD and exchange thing. like to seek opinions for the following scenario:

    current situation:

our melbourne and sydney offices have their own servers, running as DC and exchange servers. two different and separate AD.

what we are trying to achieve:

    - install a new server in our corporate HQ office in singapore now. new DC for a new AD and exchange server.

    - combine two existing ADs in the two offices into this new AD, perhaps with two domains one for each office.

    - move the mailboxes to the new exchange server in singapore.

unfortunately the WAN links from the two offices to singapore are not good at all. i am not sure if it is possible to remove the servers' harddisks, bring back to singapore, and migrate the mailboxes from the harddisks to the new server and exchange organization?

and if we can still keep the user's existing smtp addresses?

appreciate any advise and feedback.. thanks in advance!!
