I am creating a site template that is a copy of Moss STS site template.
To apply a custom master page, I changed the ONET.xml file to set the “MasterUrl = custom.master” and “CustomMasterUrl = custom.master”.
My custom.master file is provisioned by a feature that is referenced in my ONET.xml file.
Everything gone right when I create a new site from my site template, my site appear with the correct master page.
My problem appears when I go to site settings and Master page (in the look and feel column). I then have the following error:
The site master page setting currently applied to this site is invalid. Please select a new master page and apply it
The system master page setting currently applied to this site is invalid. Please select a new master page and apply it.
I saw a Microsoft bug report concerning this message (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936908) but my problem is a bit different:
- My site is not a subsite, but a top-level site.
- The publishing feature is activated on my site, but the Microsoft workaround does not work for me.
Does anybody have an idea to solve this???
Where is your error? on the site setting page or on the master pages gallery page?
