sql server EXPRESS number of users per database RRS feed

  • Question

  • In SQL Server Mgmt studio, the database properties/General dialog shows 5 for number of users.  Is this a limitation?  If not, how can the number be changed?

    Hello Jim,

that property shows the count of users having Access permissions for the database, so it's not a limitation, see Database Properties (General Page)

  • Hi Jim Foy,

    >>Is this a limitation?

No. As Olaf mentioned, number of users refers to number of users created in database.

    >> If not, how can the number be changed?

No, I’m afraid you can’t change the number of users unless you delete user, but you could restrict the number of connections to SQL Server instance in Object Explorer-> Properties->Connections.

For more details, please refer to Configure the user connections Server Configuration Option.

    Hope this could help you.
