VSS Error ID 12305 RRS feed

  • One of my back up job failed to create Recovery Point after the disk went offline. The disk was brought back up online, restarted Volume Shadow Copy on DPM server and rerun the job but it still fails with the below error: 

    Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Volume/disk not connected or not found. Error context: CreateFileW(\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1548,0xc0000000,0x00000003,...). 

       Query diff area for this volume

       Volume Name: \\?\Volume{fdd8cef5-ddfe-11e6-941c-a4badb17a023}\

    I got an "Access is Denied" when i click on Volume Name: \\?\Volume{fdd8cef5-ddfe-11e6-941c-a4badb17a023}\ 

    When i view the event details, it show username: NT Authority\System but we actually don't have this account set up anywhere. 

    Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
