DPM 2010 Reporting stopped working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently, when I try to run any reports they always fail after a l-o-n-g time. If I watch the task manager, I see sqlserver.exe go to 99% cpu usage for a few minutes, then it falls back to 75% for several minutes and the report never is generated and displayed.

Everything else in DPM seems to be working ok. This is new behavior and I don't have any idea where to begin to solve it. Nothing in the application or system error logs. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • So two months later, the same problem occurs and this time after a few days, it is still not working properly. I start any report, says "generating report" and it never does. sqlserver.exe is running around 99% of CPU and doesn't give any sign that it is going to stop.

Rebooting the server stops sqlserver.exe from using all the cpu, but if I try another report. Same thing happens.

    Any suggestions?
