DB Performance after Copy RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a SQL database which is effectively a data capture system, main table has around 77k rows at present.  The DB was created under my personal Azure Subscription and has become production, our dev and test DBs are under my work subscription.  We have exported to BACPAC and imported to the new subscription with a view to moving across to this new DB, however in the process of doing so we have observed the performance of the new DB is very poor in comparison to the existing DB, running the same queries on each tends to see a 100% increase in execution duration on the new DB.

My DB performance tuning skill are probably not the best, but this seems like quite a basic and odd issue. Can anyone give me some pointers as to where I should start looking to understand why this might be.
