Although Project Server allows you to close a task to updates, my question for you is why you would want to close a task that is not 100% complete.  If the reason is because the remainder of the task is no longer needed, then I would ask the PM to set the Remaining Work to 0h on this task, and then close the task to further updates.  Also, in the future, please let us know what version of Project Server you are using.  Hope this helps.

It is possible. But it may cause issues with the schedule. This would be especially true if you are using the protected actuals feature which requires that task status comes only through PWA.

If you want to close the task to updates, it would be better to mark it complete by setting remaining work to 0.

  • Hello msp Admin

I am not clear to what you mean by "Close to Update It".

I am assuming you mean you want to close the project because it is finished.  If that is the case, I set all my remaining hours to 0, and release all my resources, so the resources will not be schedule for future work

    Cheers
