simple way to add a more interesting background or graphics ( eg logo.png ) to a sharepoint list survey?

    Question

  • Is there a simple way to add a more interesting background or graphics ( eg logo.png ) to a sharepoint list survey?

    The survey is to be distributed from an external link will be accessed by numerous device types, don't want a ridiculous amount of fancy graphics, ideally I was thinking of creating a single graphic as a back ground that would convey the business character better than a white background which is fairly boring albeit functional.

    The only thing that might restrict the answers and options is that the user devices are going to be very varied from iphones and ipads  to browsers of almost any type, ie this isn't a community of windows and IE so flash, Silverlight etc are definitely not options

    thanks for any comments

  • Hi,

    One way to add the background image is to modify the page using SharePoint Designer 2013 in advance mode.  There are three view pages for Survey List by default

    • Overview
    • All Responses
    • Graphical Summary

    Once opened the page (All Responses -) in Advanced mode, go to the content place holder with id PlaceHolderAdditionalPageHead , add the following style snippet.

    <asp:content contentplaceholderid="PlaceHolderAdditionalPageHead" runat="server">
    	<style>
    		.ms-backgroundImage
    		{
    			background-image:url("/_layouts/15/images/spcommon.png?rev=23")
    		}
    }
    	</style>
    	<SharePoint:RssLink runat="server"/>
    </asp:content>

    Result will be shown in the below screenshot

  • Don't know if you have access to Infopath, but it's a great tool to easily customize lists.
