Project Server 2019 - Project Idea Sharepoint List RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We have created a sharepoint list to manage the project ideas. The list has around 20 columns and 1200 records.

When we try to access the All Items view the Internet Explorer is not reponding also if we try to sort the colums nothing is happening.

There is no issue with the server reouces (RAM, CPU), also traced the SQL queries from DB, there is no long running qurries. We have done the latest CU up to Sep 2019.

How to troubleshoot / resolve the issue.

    Thanks in advance, Taj

  • What does the performance look like on SQL server and the SharePoint App server?   Do the servers have enough processor and memory to run effectively?

  • Hi Michael,

    Thanks for your response.

The CPU utilization of APP and SQL DB is lesser than 30% and RAM is lesser than 40%.

    Thanks in advance, Taj

  • Hello,

What about trying another browser such as Chrome? Does that work? Anything in the SharePoint ULS logs?

  • Taj,

    Few simple checks:

    1) Do you have formatting or styling applied on this list view? Turn it back to default view and see if you still have the issue.

    2) Reduce the number of items in the view and see if it helps performance.

I have had few instances where using inbuilt list styles has impacted performance.

  • Hi Prasanna ,

Thanks for your reponse, there is no formatting or style applied. We are using the default.

As a workaround we tried with 250 items per page,  somewhat it is OK and sorting is working.

    Thanks in advance, Taj
