Project Server 2019 How to restore pjrep.MSP_EpmAssignmentByDay_UserView ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

    So, the problem is:

the view pjrep.MSP_EpmAssignmentByDay_UserView was accidentally removed from Views of WSS_Content database.

So, maybe somebody knows how to restore this view?

Well, views was restored from anothers _OlapView with similar data.

But after a few minutes views was deleted again!

    I don't undertand what's going on?!

Something strange activity on the server....

Is it possible to logging all activity or set "readonly" to the views?

  • Hi Andrey

I have seen same issue many times in Project Server 2016 on premise. Below Sharepoint powershell command helps to re-create project server views

    Repair-SPProjectWebInstance -RepairRule 7

    Hope it helps

  • Hello Santosh

    Thank you for the tip.

I'll keep it for the future incidents.

So, now I have re-created all views, examples I got from test server, just UIDs changed.

  • Hi

I have similar situation on a SharePoint 2016 farm. 2 PWA but every on different Content db. I have to run the repair command periodically from time to time. Do you know what causes deleting views?

  • Hi Adam

This is one of known issue in project server 2016.

you need to run the repair command whenever project server views get deleted. Microsoft unable to figure it out what was the root cause

  • Hello guys!

It seems that not only project server 2016, I got it in 2019 version.

So, I'm still haven't answer about what was a reason why this views was deleted from DB.

    My workaround:

I made custom views with names like dbo.MSP_CustomViewReports_EpmProjects_UserView, dbo.MSP_CustomViewReports_EpmTasks_UserView and others.

Views used only in cases when need to get data for SSRS reports and others integrated systems (ERP, CRM).

    All queries were edited.

    Now everything allright.
