    Hi,

    I've purchased windows 2012 R2 standrad license.

    It's current unsed(not installed on server).

    Pls. suggest can I downgrade it to 2008 R2 standard?

    From where I'll get keys of 2008 R2 license?

    Hi,

    You can downgrade, but it depend on your media for the next step. (retail vs VL vs OEM)

    In big;

    - If a VL, you can call Microsoft licensing and they will generate you another key for the 2008R2 in your VL's account.

    - If OEM, you need to call your revendor to get the media kit to re-install.

    - If retail you can use a a retail kit you have to downgrade.
