  • Hi,

What is the detailed error message received? Like the password entered does not meet the password complex requirement? Does the issue occur on all the clients or some of them? What is the OS version of the client? Does the issue occur on new user account or the account whose password is expired. You can also list the password you have tried here.

Please first check the following links for troubleshooting.

You receive a "The system cannot change your password now because the domain <DomainName> is not available" error message when you try to change your password in Windows XP or in Windows 2000

Changing the password on a locked-out account generates a "domain not available" message

  • Related to MSDN :
ERROR_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO 1351 (0x547) : Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or access has been denied.

Did client have access to DC ?

Moreover, which version of Windows on client side ?

  • Hello,

as Nina Liu said, please provide the complete error message. If the documents are not helping then please provide more details about the domain setup and where the password policy is configured, on domain level or if you use OUs(which will NOT work) or work with Fine grained password policies.

  • Can you change the password from ADUC by right clicking the user. Also, what is the minimum password age set in password policy?
