Edge Favorites Redirect Symboliclink stops Browser working

  • Hi Guys,

I am setting up VDI and wanted to setup a few Symboliclinks, (folder redirections) for a limited number of applications so that if a collection or user profile is rebuilt they do not loose their setting, notes or favourites.

I can do this with some of the programs without issues. What I am finding is that I cannot do it with items under packages like, sticky notes and Edge favourites.

I can create the symboliclink using

    New-Item -ItemType SymbolicLink -Target $destFolderStr -Path $srcFolderStr

Yet when you go to open Edge or Sticky notes they open for a few seconds then close. I assume this is because they cannot correctly read or write to the location.

Does anyone have any idea on how to directly access sticky notes or Edge Favourites from a map drive. I don't particularly want a backup that I would have to recover.

    Thanks for your time.

  • Hi Craig,

you may find answers for Edge Administration in an EDGE forum...

    see the resources tab @

I presume Sticky Notes is an Edge extension? It should be in the Users' AppData folder.... visit the vendors website for support with their products.

Possibly you may have to tweak about:flags settings.
