excel servoce errors in the event logs RRS feed

  • Question

  • When we open excel file from sharepoint site "error occurred" message is popping up.

Post restarting of "excel calculation service" and recycle excel service app pool,  error disappears and excel file is loading fine. No issues.

But event log errors are frequently generating in the one of the web front end server. Below are the event logs.

And it is happening mostly post Password update maintenance

We rebooted and cleared the config cache but still errors are generating in the event viewer. Please help

  • Hi,

Please make sure that the account you are using for Excel calculation service is working properly. Navigate to IIS > Excel Service Application Pool > Advanced Settings > Identity and retype the username and password. You can also change to another user account and see the result.

If the issue persists, confirm that the hardware of the server is functioning correctly, or reinstall Excel Services Application and re-add the server to the server farm.

After that, reboot the server and see the result.
