List Form Error on SharePoint Online RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Techies,

We have migrated a list from SP2013 to SharePoint Online, and that list has close to 130 columns which are displayed based on certain conditions using js.  The form works fine on SP2013.

Post Migration the form are throwing below error and we are unable to resolve it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Error Description:-

Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.

  • Hi Sachchin,

In SharePoint Online, if the Web Part contains custom XSLT code doesn't display, you would receive this error.

You could try the workaround provided in this article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/support/web-parts/fails-displaying-web-part-including-xslt-code

Take one or more of the following actions in Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2013 to decrease the probability that the Web Part will reach the throttling limit:

    • Reduce the size of the code by replacing the existing value of ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)) with the new value @ID.
    • Remove all <SharePoint:FieldDescription> strings.
    • For an edit form page, break the XSL template for <xsl:template name="dvt_1.rowedit"> into multiple XSL templates by dividing the table rows into multiple XSL templates. You can do this by using SharePoint Designer 2013 to edit and add the strings.

    Best Regards,

    Michael Han
