DPM 2012 R2 Upgrade from DPM 2010

Hi ,
Currently i have DPM 2010 and want to to upgrade to DPM 2012 R2 ? Hence i have below Query. and looking for step by step Guide..
1. Can i directly upgrade to DPM 2012 R2 from 2010?
2. what are the things i need to keep in mind for such Activity?
3. Can I use that Disk Used for Backup in DPM 2010 for the DPM 2012 R2 and use all the data recover from such Doisk and configure new Protection Group.
4. Can we use the Same DPM DB that used by DPM 2010 or i need to install new one ..

Hi,
There is no direct upgrade path from DPM 2010 to DPM 2012 R2, you must upgrade to DPM 2012 + DPM 2012 SP1 - then to DPM 2012 R2.
The recommended upgrade path from DPM 2010 to DPM 2012 R2 is as follows:Note: the Operating system and SQL requirements for DPM 2012

1) On DPM 2010 install the latest update: KB2751231 Description of hotfix rollup package 7 for System Center Data Protection Manager 20102) Update the Agents to 3.0.8195.0
3) Backup the DPM 2010 database.
4) Upgrade to DPM 2012
5) Install the latest DPM 2012 update: KB2756127 Description of Update Rollup 3 for System Center 2012
6) Update agents to 4.0.1920.0
7) Backup the DPM 2012 database.
8) Upgrade to DPM 2012 Sp1.
