  • Hi,

    Has this worked before?

What version and build of SCOM are you using?

Have you tried clearing the cache of the Operations Console with the /clearcache parameter?

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/scom/manage-clear-healthservice-cache?view=sc-om-2019

If this is a new installation, make sure you meet all prerequisites:

System requirements for System Center Operations Manager

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Hi,

Is there any updates pending restart? We may try the following:

    1) reboot the server twice (sometimes once is not enough to apply the changes)
    2) if the problem persists, try to uninstall and re-install the console

    Hope the above information helps.

  • Hi Manikandan,

We are having SCOM 2019 now, but we recently upgraded previously SCOM 2016 was there in that also same behavior.

What does this mean? As Walsham asked, what is the OS and .net framework version? Have we tried to uninstall and re-install the operations console or clear the cache as suggested by Leon?

    Hope the above information helps.

  • Do you have any hardenings done and/or any antivirus on the server that may be causing issues?

  • Some prerequisite is either lacking or then something is blocking this, you mentioned that you have TrendMicro antivirus installed, could you try uninstalling this on one of the servers and test?

Out of the box this sgould work, if you have all required prerequisites and no hardenings done, it must be some third party software that is installed on the server that is causing issues.

You can also try a clean install Windows Server with no software or roles & features, add the server as an management server and check.

  • Hi Manikandan,

Agree with Leon, to narrow down the problem, we may try a computer (without AV impact and group policy impact) to see if it works.

In addition, for Server 2015, it seems the PowerShell version should be 5.1 and not sure where does the 3.0 come from.

    Hope the above information helps.

  • Hi Alex,

I meant 3.0 because it's meeting the minimum so that's why i mentioned, i have checked in 2016 server as you mentioned it's 5.1 .

  • I have seen a similar issue where it does this within the new HTML5 web console for SCOM whcih was down to heavy hardening to stop widgets from operating normally. I wonder if perhaps looking at the policies set for your internet explorer may resolve this?

The error which you have where the console crashes, mostly its down to .NET framework. Out of curiosity did you upgrade the server to 2016 by any chance at all from 2012? I ask as to the point where Leon says there are prerequisites lacking. And theres normally a few specific updates and hotfixes needed to make some applications stable, this case SCOM
