Periodic azure ping spikes RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I am seeing periodic spikes in the response time my Azure website (running in Standard mode, small instance).  The graph below shows the response times over 24 hours for a ping service (running in an MVC app).  You'll notice the huge spikes.  I'm trying to figure out what might be causing those.   And better yet, how to alleviate it.  Any thoughts on how to start diagnosing?  Thanks very much.

  • Hi jbkielis,

The azure website's URL will be test every 5 minutes, the Web Site is considered down when the response time is greater than 30 seconds or the HTTP status code is greater than 400, according to the screenshot that you provide, the maximum value is 14.79, the website is working fine, maybe it execute a huge work, if you want to use diagnostic, Malar's post maybe helpful.

    Best Regards,
