Upgrade from SP 2007 to SP 2013 - Missing template (PWS) issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Currently we are upgrading our SharePoint 2007 farm to a SharePoint 2013 farm. We are using the database attach method with a temporary SharePoint 2010 farm in the middle (2007 -> 2010 -> 2013).

On our 2007 farm we have Project Server 2007 installed, but we do not want this installed on or 2013 farm. The problem we are facing is a number of customers created sites/subwebs in our SharePoint web app using the Project Workspace (PWS) template that comes from Project Server. These sites and subwebs are scattered throughout our SharePoint web app.

The problem we are facing is we cannot upgrade these sites that are based on the PWS template. Is there any way to get this PWS template on our 2010 and 2013 farms without having to install Project Server? Manually recreating these sites using a team site template is not a good solution for us because there are over a hundred of them and we do not have the money to purchase a migration tool. Does anyone have another good solution?
