Managing Large Number of Users in Project Server 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a customer that is running Project Server 2010.  Based on the information in this article Best practices for managing a large number of resources in Project Server 2010, they are currently inheriting PWA permissions on all project sites (they are not using the site permissions sync).  They were claiming sync times of 10+ hours.

Is this is necessary to continue doing in 2013?  I'm reasonably certain that the mechanism for the site permission sync changed, but I haven't been able to find any information describing the exact steps the sync performs.  One of the problems I have seen resolved was that the sync in 2010 would delete user-established alerts on items in the project sites because it drops the account as the first step.  I'm curious, therefore, if the sync is also more efficient and zippier, obviating the need to inherit the PWA permissions.

    Chris
