How to import Access 2007 DB data into Sharepoint

    Question

  • I'd like to take an Acess 2007 database and pull the data into a WSS 3.0 site with the end result being that we will not be dependant on another application like Access to bring up the data and using the WSS 3.0 SQL backend instead. Any help is appreciated.

  • Hi

You can move a complete Access database to SharePoint Site where it can be managed and accessed by the web browser. The main benefit is that your data becomes widely accessible throughout your Enterprise and is stored in a scalable back-end store (SQL Server database) with all the benefits of robust concurrency and security and automatic backing up that that database engine brings. The process is not quite complicated and you can follow the steps in this article:

    Hope this helps.
