First off, I have reviewed the previous question "Oracle
Provider for OLE DB Locking up" and it does not appear to approach the issue in the same manner. Please allow latitude for this question if you believe it has already been covered. Please provide as much feedback as possible.
I have a client that is running an ERP system for the purpose of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger on SQL Server 2008 R2 64bit. The client runs several other systems (POS and Operations) on other platforms In an effort
to provide integrated reporting and information at a finger tip, the client is using Oracle and the Oracle Gateway to access these different data sources.
The problem: When a query "Select * from Entity@MSSQL500" is run from the Oracle database by connection through the Oracle Gateway to retrieve the data in the SQL Server database, The SQL Server instance stops responding (all user activity stops).
Has anyone successfully implement an Orcale Gateway integration to SQL Server 2008 R2 database? How did you get around the SQL Server instance lock up?
