Accessing Sharepoint directly, or through Local Server & Syncing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day,

This question is intended for Sharepoint Online, but I could not find the relevant forum as a selection.

We are looking at moving to the cloud. We work with documents as well as heavy engineering files such as drawings and models which can exceed 100mb each. We are wondering how best to go about implementing SharePoint Online.

We are currently about 15 users on a 100mb line. We want to upgrade to a 1000mb line, but this may not be possible due to infrastructure,

We were considering instead of accessing all files on Sharepoint, having all users accessing the files on a local server while at the office, which synchronises to a Sharepoint account, and then when users are out of the office they can access these files via Sharepoint Online.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

  • Hi CSFitzgerald,

You can install OneDrive client and connect with SharePoint Online Document Library. This will keep those files synced both ways.

Whenever you're online, any changes that you or others make will sync automatically.

You need to first copy all the local files and paste it to document library from windows explorer, Then sync library with new OneDrive sync client.

Or you can map network drives to SharePoint Online:
