User "My Documents" Folder Migration Assistance RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have recently migrated my company's AD DC running Windows Small Business Server 2003 to Windows Server 2016 Essentials, and the process went over very well, but the only issue I have been having is moving each domain user's "My Documents" folder over to the new server, and having each My Documents folder on any computer a user logs in to sync with the new server. The User data is stored on a separate partition on the old server, and I can manually copy all of the folders to the new server on a similar partition, but I cannot for the life of me force the My Documents folder to sync with the new server's data instead of the old one. I don't have a huge amount of experience with AD, and am mainly self-taught, in which case I might be doing something completely wrong. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and thanks to all in advance for helping.
