SugarCRM and the new MSSQL Driver

    General discussion

  • Hi Guys,

I would like to start a discussion on sucesses using the new MSSQL driver with SugarCRM.

I am aware there is a UTF-8 bug at present that is a bit of a show stopper, however it would be good to get feedback from those out there testing with it.

  • I was trying to install SugarCRM lastnight with the new MSSQL driver and it would not recognize a database setup from php at all.

  • John and Britt,

SugarCRM currently uses the prior community built driver, often referred to as mssql since that's the prefix it uses for its functions.  SugarCRM does not yet use the SQL Server Driver for PHP, whose function prefix is sqlsrv.  We are working with contacts at SugarCRM so that future versions of SugarCRM can use the SQL Server Driver for PHP.

Regarding UTF-8 support: We are working on adding UTF-8 support to the SQL Server Driver for PHP in the next release.  Keep an eye on our team blog for more information.
