View all site collections page - missing information RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    In View all site collections in Central Admin all the site collection URLS are showing in the left section - but for 20 of the 30 Site Collections when I click the URL the info in the right section for this site is missing: Title, Description, Primary administrator, E-mail address, Database Name.

    But I can see other site collections information

    All sites are available in the browser

    What do I have to do to get the site info back for these sites and what could break this?

    Thanks

    jonj

  • Hi jonjames.

    Did you recently perform any operations on the site collections at the content database level? I've seen such a behaviour only after dismounting/mounting the content database for a site collection.
    Open an administrative SharePoint Management Shell, execute the below PowerShell snippet

    $site = Get-SPSite http://siteurl

    and then try viewing the value for each of the properties of the site collection you've mentioned in your request.
    Check if any of the site collection has its lock state set to either "Read only" or "No access".

    Bye.

  • Hi James.

    That might be also possible if Site collection are Read only as well. try to make sure all the site collections are not locked. by running the below script. and if possible do an IISRESET that will help you to fix the issue you are facing.

    Add-pssnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.Powershell -ErrorAction silentlycontinue
     $sites = get-spsite -limit all | foreach {
      write-host "Checking lock for site collection: " $_.RootWeb.Title -foregroundcolor blue
     ($_.ReadOnly -eq $false -and $_.ReadLocked -eq $false -and $_.WriteLocked -eq $false)
           { write-host "The site lock value for the site collection"$_.RootWeb.Title "is:  Unlocked" -foregroundcolor Green}
              if ($_.lockissue -ne $null) {
                 write-host "The additional text was provided for the lock: " $_.LockIssue -foregroundcolor Green}
           elseif ($_.ReadOnly -eq $false -and $_.ReadLocked -eq $false -and $_.WriteLocked -eq $true)
            { write-host "The site lock value for the site collection"$_.RootWeb.Title "is:  Adding Content Prevented" -foregroundcolor Green}
         elseif ($_.ReadOnly -eq $true -and $_.ReadLocked -eq $false -and $_.WriteLocked -eq $true)
            { write-host "The site lock value for the site collection"$_.RootWeb.Title "is:  Read-only" -foregroundcolor Green}
           elseif ($_.ReadOnly -eq $null -and $_.ReadLocked -eq $null -and $_.WriteLocked -eq $null)
             { write-host "The site lock value for the site collection"$_.RootWeb.Title "is:  No Access" -foregroundcolor Green}
     }
