    Hello

    i have a weird issue that i'm handle with. 

    main goal - restrict users to access local servers via \\servername

    server 2012 r2 , domain environment

    i created a GPO that disallow access to servers - unc path cannot be accessed.

    This Policy works. (attached file 1.png) When selecting a location to download a file, accessing through the address bar to unc path results in an error.


    But when i perform the same operation through the file name bar it works and i don't received error message. (attached file 2.png)

    bottom line, i want that users won't be able to access servers when perfoming " \\servername " or " \\serverIP "

    please assist.
