Error creating cluster in VMM (SM_RC_NOT_SUPPORTED) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

I have some trouble with creating S2D cluster in VMM.

    What I have:

    VMM 2019

Four identical hosts with Windows Server 2019 with all latest updates.

I try create S2D cluster in VMM, and have this error: Registration of the storage subsystem [Clustername.domain.local] for user store\admin failed from VMM.domain.local with error code 1 [SM_RC_NOT_SUPPORTED].

I tried it several times, and each time the error is the same.

Failover Cluster Validation Report is full success. If create cluster manually (from powershell, not vmm) it works.

    How can i fix it?

  • I solved it. It is needed to Update the cluster functional level on VMM cluster.

It is an article for VMM 2016, but also works for vmm 2019.
