  • Question

  • Hi,

We have configured different Service offering for different purpose and role. however we have given different permission for each request offering under few Service offerings. now even we have applied AD group permission, its not working as everything (all request offering) is visible to everyone.

  • It's possible to get this done:

Service Offering -> Member in "Catalog Group 1a and "Catalog Group 1b"

Some Request Offerings -> Member in "Catalog Group 1a"

Some other Request Offerings -> Member in "Catalog Group 1b"

SCSM User Role 1a: Permissions on "Catalog Group 1a"

SCSM User Role 1b: Permissions on "Catalog Group 1b"

SCSM User Role 1 -> AD Group 1 with User 1

SCSM User Role 2 -> AD Group 2 with User 2

  • Permissions of User Roles in SCSM are cumulative.

Which permissions and AD groups are configured for the End Users role and/or "Authenticated Users"?

How is the "Generic Incident Request Catalog Item Group" group configured?

  • Hi Andreas,

Agree...  Permissions of User Roles in SCSM are cumulative

below are group configured for "Generic Incident Request Catalog Item Group"

in this "Generic Incident Request Catalog Item Group" expected request offerings are not listed, rest all settings on above screenshot is blank.

Now for User Role "End User" see below screenshot

This settings is grayed out and "Everyone"  group is used in Users tab.

i have created one more Catalog item group "End User request offering" you can see in above image. here i wish and added rest all request offering which should be accessible to end user.

But i have found Culprit "Company.Service.Request"

Here i can see all Catalog item (all request offerings) are selected and in User its everyone. please see below image. but if i change radio button from "All catalog item can be accessed" to "Provide access to only selected groups" and that too anything from below options of catalog items then end users sees portal as blank. No single request offerings is visible. Even though i have added 10 request offerings in "End user request offerings" catalog item. and if i revert back to radio button "All catalog item can be accessed" then end user able to see all request offerings

  • Hi Andreas,

I Just tried and found that its working on Service offering level and not at Request offering level.

I mean, my requirement was there is one Service offering in which there would be more than 4-5 request offering, now out of that two request offering i would like to show only Higher Management level and rest for end users (Everyone). but it seems its not working at that granular level.

please suggest if its possible and if you know how to achieve this.
