Audit Collection Services - Collect 2016 server events on OpsMgr 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just enabled Audit Collection services forwarding from a Windows 2016 Server. I am not seeing any events for this machine in the ACS database. Does anyone know if OpsMgr 2012 R2 supports collecting events from a Windows 2016 Server?

  • Hi,

Since SCOM 2012 R2 supports agents on Windows Server 2016, I believe it should be supported to collect events from Windows Server 2016 servers.

    Best regards,

  • 1) Ensure that ACS  forwarder for agent is enabled: pls. check whether  AdtAgent services is started on the agent

    2) Review any event logged on agent and ACS Collector

  • Hi,

Agree with Leon, for Windows 2016/2019, there is no obvious change for the event.

    SCOM Audit Collection (ACS) Internals

Also, we may check if our procedure is the same as below:
Step By Step Install SCOM 2016 ACS Collector and Database

    Hope the above information helps.

  • I'm a dork. The first time I enabled the forwarder, I failed to specify the management server on which ACS is collecting. Your Kevin Holman article helped me see that no events were being sent. I re-enabled the forwarder and specified the management server and see events now.

    Thanks!
