  • First off - Don't uncheck any of the already installed components!!!  This will unistall them from your server.

I believe this is a bug in our setup when trying to add Web Console component to a server that already has managmenet server or agent installed.  At this time I do not know of a work around.

You will need to install Web Console on another box.

  • Hi.

Have you already run Prereq. Viewer in order to see whether all needed components are in place for the Web Console? Is the server a single server solution since you write that the same server is also SQL server? When I search based on this query 'GetMsiFeatureState: Failed to get feature state. Error Code: 0x80070646. MOMGateway' I do find errors concerning SCOM Reporting. Are you really trying to install the Web Console here?

  • Yip the prereqs ran 100% all components install correctly and yes  it is a single server solution SCOM/SQL on the same server

  • Hmm.

What account do you use? It needs admin permissions on the server itself, in SCOM and SQL as well. Also, what kind of W2K08 Server are you running? Up to R2 you need to run every installation with elevated permissions.

  • Accouunt I use is both a domain admin/SQL db owner and I do run the install/msi with administrative rights.

  • The account is also admin within SCOM? I ask this since I can't find that back in your answer

Looks like you are didn't choose 'This component will not be available' for all components except WebConsole and installer tries to install OpsMgrDB...

  • Have tried to run the operation manager setup wizard >uncheck (This component will not be available) for Database ,Management Server ?

  • But then it wants to remove the components, is there no way to get the msi to only install the web console?
