Azure Site Recovery - On-Prem Master Target Server not listed in Azure RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I am attempting to use the following steps to fail back from azure to on-prem vmware.  We successfully failed over machines to Azure and now want to move them back for testing purposes.

Following this guide, https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/site-recovery-failback-azure-to-vmware/#overview we were able to create a new Master Target/vContinuum server on-premise. The vContinuum is pointed at the original config server as mentioned in the guide previously linked and can talk to it etc and pull the azure vms.  However should it be of concern if the master target server isn't listed in the Azure Servers-->recovery vault-->Servers-->config server-->properties along with the other azure based master target server?

The only piece we deviated from that guide is that we used private IPs of the VMs instead of the public IPs.  But I don't see how that should make any difference.

  • Hi Jon,

This is expected for failback MT at on-prem.  You can ignore above message and it won’t cause any functionality issues.  Since this MT is connected to ASR it expects endpoints for the server, ideally we don’t need end points for failback MT.

    Thanks

    Shashank
