  • Question

  • We did a deployment and about 50 machines never downloaded any content.   We looked at the long files and the DataTransfer.log  says it did download

We looked in the CACHE folder and it is empty on all 50 machines.      In the  ClientLocation.log on all 50 machines we see this.

    Setting Assigned Site ClientLocation 10/7/2011 4:31:29 PM 3920 (0x0F50)
    Assigning client to site 'NA2' ClientLocation 10/7/2011 4:31:29 PM 3920 (0x0F50)

    Client assigned to site 'NA2' ClientLocation 10/7/2011 4:31:29 PM 3920 (0x0F50)

That is the entire file, nothing else.

Everything else looks fine on these machines.  They show up as Clients and all the log files are being written too.

In the content transfer.log I see this at the very end

CTM encountered error processing reply from DTS. Code 0x80040215

I Googled this and it points to IIS 6.   We are running IIS 7 on all of our SCCM servers.

  • I found the issues.    Yes, they are all in the correct boundaries.  They are pointing to our old SMS 2003 servers for some reason.  and these old servers are long gone.

  • Have you verified that these systems are in valid IP Range boundaries (any other type of boundary is bad news)?

Have you also verified that you don't have any overlapping boundaries?
