OpsMgr 1807 SQL upgrade from 2016 to 2017 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Has anybody here successfully upgraded SQL 2016 to SQL 2017 on OpsMgr 1807?  I don't want to screw up SSRS on SQL 2016.  Looking for detailed document with screen shot on how to complete the upgrade.

MS has a document on how to complete but it is not detailed.  Appreciate, if anybody can share anything on the above.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

I can share you my experience, I have upgraded the SQL Server 2016 to 2017 with the SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), but with some issues.

The documentation from Microsoft offers pretty high-level steps so they don't go in too deep into detail, I'm actually almost finished writing a guide on how to perform this upgrade, but since I stumbled upon issues with the SSRS, I haven't been able to finish my guide.

Everything else is working without issues except for the SSRS, the report server URLs are not working for some reason, but I haven't had time lately to troubleshoot it more.

There was another post here on the SCOM TechNet forums about the same issue, but I couldn't find it, here's another post about issues with SSRS 2017:

I will try to dig into it this week.

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Thanks Leon.  When you have finished the guide please share the link here.  I too was hesitant to go with the upgrade because of SSRS.  Appreciate all the help from the community with the upgrade.
