  • Hi,

Uou can create an Alert View within the Operations Console, and configure the criteria for "Critical" alerts only, and Resolution State as "Not Equal" closed.

Once you have created it, you will see the Alert View in the Web Console as well.

You also need to check the permissions users have in SCOM, if they are able to view everything.

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • You need to increase the maximum number of alerts the web console can display, it is limited to 200 by default :

Create new Alert Views for your requirements, and if you do have over 200 alerts (which is a lot) then I suggest you modify the limitation in the Web.Config file to be able to view all alerts.

  • there is only total 28 active alerts in operation console view and in web console is 26 which is less the default limits 200 and still some alert are missing in web console.some alert are showing which is older then then even one month in web console.

  • I'd double check that the Alert View is configured with a proper criteria first of all.

As the difference is only 2 alerts, there's a chance that it could be cached alerts that are actually closed but are still for some reason showing up in the Operations Console, this can happen quite often.

  • Are the missing alerts of Information level?

If yes, it's normal : the web console doesn't show them by default, it needs to be enabled : http://thoughtsonopsmgr.blogspot.com/2009/02/scom-webconsole-doesnt-show.html

  • By default web console only shows alerts up to a week (7 days), and with error or warning serverity.
This can be adjusted in web console's web.config file.

No, both limits are enforced : the web console only shows alerts that are more recent than 7 days, with a limit of 200. Even if there are fewer alerts than 200, it won't show them if they are older than 7 days.

So the age limit needs to be adjusted as well.
