SCOM Gateway Server Certificate Renewal RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Just had a quick question on renewing the SCOM Server\Client Authentication Certificate

I've had quick read of this article which seems straight forward to replace an expiring certificate

    http://systemcenterhacks.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/scom-renew-certificates.html

I was wondering if the certificate can be renewed from the certificates snap in using the 'Renew this certificate...' option?

    Thanks

  • Hi Dean,

you mean the option "Renew this certificate with the same key"?

Even in this case a new certificate is generated, so you cannot skip the steps of removing the old certificates with "MOMCertImport.exe /Remove" and the import of the renewed certs again with MOMCertImport.exe.

    From:

Renew a Certificate with the Same Key

"Once renewed, the old certificate will be archived. "

    Hope I could help. Regards,

  • Hi,

    Please check the link below:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730605(v=ws.11).aspx

I'd run the MOMCertImport.exe again after renewing, just to be sure.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!
