• I am troubleshooting some non-compliant systems and I woke up one with 1E, then I ran an Update Scan and I was watching the windowsupdate.log and it says "Unable to establish connection to the service. [hr=80070422]" so I googled it and some posts say to check wuauserv and I went to services and that service isn't in the list. Is that service needed with SUP?

  • Yes the Windows Update service must be running on the client in order to scan and apply Windows Updates.

  • Thanks Kent, I went into Services and Automatic Updates was disabled and so I enabled and started, then did an Update Scan from Client Center and it is now synching up to the site server. I may need to see how many systems that is disabled on and go from there. I just rebooted to see if it comes back disabled again, I want to see if its set that way in group policy.
