Viewing Current Activity stage in a Change Request RRS feed

    Hi All,

    I'm having trouble finding out how the "Activity Stage" in progess title is passed to the parent service request banner. as below

    Would like to try and add this field to our change request form as well, would be useful for views to be able to see the change request details and what the current in progress activity title was.

    Ive tried selecting it in the authoring console but cant see to get at it.

    As all change request have differnent numbers of activities added, from looking at the change views you cant tell what stage the change is at unless you open it and go to the activitis tab.

    Hi John,

    That is probably managed by the code behind in the service request form (and the release form). There is no simple solution to this but here are a couple of possible solutions.

    One possible way of doing it in the CR form would be to write a custom control that enumerates the activities of the current CR to find the one with status "InProgress" and display the name of that one. The custom Control would have to be injected through manipulating form customization XML targeting the CR form.

    An alternative to this would be to create a custom relationship (a one-to-one) relationship for the "Current Activity InProgress". Each time a new Activity goes from status pending to in progress a workflow could set the "Current Activity InProgress" to the activity that triggered the workflow. Since the new relationship would be a one-to-one relationship you could bind to that one without problem after adding the relationship to the projection used by the CR form (done automatically if you use the Authoring Tool to add a label binding to the new custom relationship).
