Monitoring Exchange 2010 on OM 2019

We currently have an environment with Exchange 2010 and 2016 Servers. The 2013 Management pack has been installed and the 2016 servers are being monitored. Is it possible to get a MP for 2010 servers for OM 2019.

The only MP I was able to find was https://www.microsoft.com/en-za/download/details.aspx?id=692. That however is not compatible and can not be installed.

Is it possible to monitor Exchange 2010 on SCOM 2019?

Hi,

It should work, not sure about Exchange 2010 and SCOM 2019, but I believe for Exchange 2010 you'll need the Exchange 2010 management pack which is the latest version for Exchange 2010.

For Exchange 2013 and later you can use the Exchange 2013 management pack which is the newest and latest management pack for Exchange.

I tried to install the same MP as per your suggestion and also looked the the link for 2013 before posting this as well.

The 2010 MP didn't allow me to install it. What I need to find out though - how do I monitor both 2010 and 2016 on-prem versions of Exchnage on SCOM 2019

If Exchange 2010 is running on Service Pack 3 then the extended support is close to ending (10/13/2020), so I'm not sure if SCOM 2019 is really supported, I highly doubt it.

In your case I would just monitor your Exchange 2016, since your 2010 version is end-of-life within months.

What exactly do you mean by "did not allow to install"? Did you get an error message? What did it look like?

I get this error. Therefore reason for asking if there are any new versions on the 2010 MP available

There are no other management packs, you can extract the contents of the .MSI file (Exchange2010ManagementPackForOpsMgr2007-x64.msi) with most archive programs and there you will find the management pack files (Microsoft.Exchange.2010.mp & Microsoft.Exchange.2010.Reports.mp)
