Question

I have an HP laptop with OEM Vista home premium 32bit. I recently had problems with my HDD and it failed so I installed a new HDD. As my old HDD was bad I couldn't create a recovery disk and had to install vista from an external disk as the recovery partition was only on the old HDD that came with the computer.
I haven't had any problems for about 3 weeks. Then yesterday I installed updates as usual and today I got a message when starting the computer that I need to activate Windows as it isn't genuine. Obviously my copy of Windows IS genuine and the product key came with the computer.
When I try entering the product key, the activation process tries to activate but fails with the following error:
Code: 0xC004F063 Description: The Software Licensing Service reported that the computer BIOS is missing a required license.
I read through some forums and tried Recreating the Licensing Store by renaming tokens.dat to tokens.bar as the soluion suggested. That didn't work.
Should I somehow update or reinstall BIOS? How do I do that? I'm really lost and have no idea what to do...

Alright the problem was solved.
Before I installed the new HDD I used a product key software to write my Windows product code. I didn't use the code that was on the sticker with my computer... So the program took the OEM key I got with the old HDD which didn't work with the new HDD. I used it now and the problem is solved!

Hi!
Thank you for your reply.
Teh error is coming up whenever I try activating Windows with my genuine product key. The key I received with my machine and which I've already used many times before.
I tried activating with my key but keep getting the error, even after a few restarts. I also tried updating the Activatin center with no success.
- My product is a laptop - HP Pavilion dv6789ej.
- I did all updates.
- I updated all drivers from the HP website.
The problem started about 3 weeks after I changed my HDD which went bad. I was updating Windows as usual and the next time my computer turned on I started getting this "non-genuine Windows" message.
I am also attaching here the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool report that I took for reference:
