Using Cloud DP as source for pull DPs RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to configure several remote DPs with slow MPLS connections to pull content from our cloud DP, but failing miserably.

I know prior to 1806 you needed to use the SDK to configure a pull DP for HTTP, and this doc: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/hierarchy/use-a-pull-distribution-point#about-source-distribution-points says you should use the ADK to configure the pull DP  to use an HTTPS source.  I'm running v2002.

I've seen blog entries to use a script to configure a DP to use an HTTPS source, but they all predate the 1806 upgrade.  I can easily select the Cloud DP as a source in the console now.   Has anyone setup a cloudDP as a source? and what must you do with the SDK to make this happen?  (If anything)

For the record, the PULLDP logs show me errors like this

  • Hi,

    Thanks for posting in TechNet.

The error code 0x87d0027e means "bad HTTP status code".

May we know if the  pull-distribution points in remote office have internet access to communicate with Microsoft Azure?

To transfer content from a source distribution point in a remote forest, install the Configuration Manager client on the pull-distribution point. Also configure a network access account that can access the source distribution point. If you enable the site option to Use Configuration Manager-generated certificates for HTTP site systems, then you don't need a network access account.

    Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,
    Simon

  • They SHOULD have access, but obviously, if they don't, it will fail.  Clients exist on all the DPs.

I'm curious how I can validate access the the cloud DP and blob storage. Got any suggestions?  Obviously, I'll try to connect via the browser.
