Official support for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I'm looking for some official information regarding SCCM OSD support for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, have anyone seen it? Also there is a new WAIK available, so I suspect that a new release/update for SCCM is required to get official support...

    Thanks.

  • Mike Niehaus has just posted a blog article on Win 7 SP1 and the WAIK update which may answer some of your questions.

It seems that the WAIK update is not mandatory, however the ConfigMgr team are still testing Win 7 SP1/WAIK so it is not yet officially supported.

  • The official statement is that a statement will come within 45 days :-) You don't require the new WAIK in order to deploy Win7 SP1

  • Hello,

Usually, support is announced 90 days after the release of Service Pack.
