LYNC monitoring with multiple source RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

what is the concept of LYNC monitoring role if I have two front-end pool , I think I need to deploy monitoring in both pools or I can deploy in one and it will capture all the CDR

and how is it working with SBA/SBS , will the monitoring role in the front-end capture the CDR made in SBS/SBA ?

    Thanks

  • The monitoring role is collocated now in Lync 2013, it's not a separate role that you would need to deploy.  However, for each front end pool you'll want to associate the monitoring with a SQL Store.  You could potentially deploy them separately, however it makes the most sense in most scenarios to have all pools send the data to the same SQL store so all of your CDR data is in the same place.  And yes, you can do this with SBS/SBA as well.

So, to answer the question, yes you can and should deploy it in one SQL location to capture all the CDR.

  • Single monitoring store can be associated with multiple pools.

You need to use Topology Builder to associate your Front End pools and servers with a monitoring database, and then publishing the revised topology.

The following link is about how to associate a Monitoring Store with a Front End Pool:
