SCCM console reports different OS version then Hardware inventory RRS feed

  • Question

  • After updating my OS to 10.0.18363 it show correctly in the hardware inventory via resource explorer. But still, after a few days, the console still shows 10.0.17763

Where can i start to do some troubleshooting, or is this a know bug? I read some articles that have it the other way around, that harware info is showing incorrect version, but in my case it is the console showing the wrong version

  • What is your heartbeat discovery set to? It will update after that is run.

  • To expand on Garth's answer, you are looking at two different data items. The one is resource explorer comes from hardware inventory. The one you are seeing in the devices or collection membership view comes from heartbeat discovery. Either manually initiate a heartbeat discovery on the client (using client notification, the control panel applet on the client, or WMI) or wait for it to happen automatically. Additionally, most folks (myself and Garth included to my knowledge) recommend decreasing the heartbeat discovery cycle to once every day.
