Can update catalog be used by WSUS directly (without SCCM)? RRS feed

  • The update catalog is published to WSUS by SCUP. So can WSUS use these update diretly (without SCCM)?

  • I've heard that you can with some programming magic of the WSUS APIs, but I haven't looked at it myself.

  • You cannot directly with the WSUS Admin Console as locally published updates are not displayed in the UI.  However, you are able to approve updates for scanning/installing by using WSUS APIs as stated above.

  • Greg is probably correct and I also imagine Wally would say something like, "This forum is for supporting SCCM not trying to figure out how to accomplish SCCM tasks without using SCCM"
