Exchange Mailbox Database group is showing different sizes on two servers ( DAG Member ) RRS feed

  • Hello folks,

    We have Exchange 2016 with DAG and Exchange Mailbox Database group is showing different sizes on two servers ( DAG Member )

    We are using backup software as NetApp Snapcenter and Replication is fine between the servers.

  • This is mostly likely due to Shadow Copies taking up space.

    I wrote an article a while back on resizing/shrinking them that should help:

  • Hi Mohammed Arifuddin,

    Are you talking about the size of database copies? How much size difference is shown? Run Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus <database name> and Get-MailboxDatabase <database name> -Status | Fl DatabaseSize, AvailableNewMailboxSpace to verify the information in system.

    Also, check the .edb files and see if there is such size difference between them. If you can't find it, check this:

    All copies of a mailbox database must be located in the same path on each server that hosts a copy. For example, if database DB1 is located at C:\mountpoints\DB1 on server EX1, copies of DB1 on servers EX2, EX3, and so on, must also be located at C:\mountpoints\DB1.

    Just for an ask, you didn't enable circular logging on any server, right?
